Unplanned work
For anyone who has ever been involved in a building project - you'll know that things often don't go to plan. Especially with older buildings - there can be unexpected surprises. In our case this roof over the old kitchen and lounge needs to be replaced as it is structurally unsafe. Water ingress into the concrete has corroded the steel supports and caused the concrete to splinter and crack.
Work should be commencing during this week to remove the roof and replace it - so we're praying for good weather!

Donations and Grants
Thousands of pounds have been raised for the Hub Project through individual donations on an ad-hoc, but also on a regular basis. We have also had significant advice and support from the Yorkshire Synod of the United Reformed Church and grants from a number of trusts. Major grants have been received from WREN and Veolia which have made various elements of the overall scheme possible. We also acknowledge the sponsorship of Rural Action Yorkshire who have provided us with funding from Defra's Aggregates Levy Sustainability Fund. We also acknowledge support and funding from Shipley Area Committee.
